Ronnie Mann earned a BS in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1985 and was commissioned into the U. S. Air Force through UNC’s AFROTC program. Upon graduation from Navigator training, he served as an Electronic Warfare Officer with the 16th Special Operations Squadron flying the AC‐130H Spectre Gunship and accumulated over 100 contingency flying hours in operations in Central America and Southwest Asia. 

Following military service, he earned an MBA with a concentration in Information Systems and Operations Management at UNC‐Greensboro in 1994. Since then, he has held a number of operations management positions in the textile, education, construction, and healthcare industries.

Ronnie joined the IDB in June 2006 and served as a Program Manager for IDB initiatives including program development, project management, and program delivery of educational offerings on behalf of the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Business Transformation Agency (BTA).  In that role, he helped develop and deliver 16 pre-deployment economics and governance roundtables for major military units preparing to deploy to Iraq and Afghanistan; he traveled to Iraq multiple times to provide in–theater support to DoD’s Task Force for Business and Stability Operations;  he helped organize and deliver geographic combatant command-focused symposia for U.S. Africa Command and U.S. European Command, and helped to develop week-long executive education courses tailored to practitioners of stabilization and economic reconstruction.  

Shifting to the role of Operations Manager in 2010, Ronnie serves as a central resource for IDB’s program, finance & administration, strategy & business development, and executive management functions and activities.  He is responsible for coordinating special projects and publications which span multiple programs. He is IDB’s lead for all contracting and vendor relations issues and tasks pertaining to infrastructure, information technology/communications, and facilities.  He de-conflicts and maintains IDB’s program delivery and staffing schedule and contracts for all local program venues. In 2022, he was appointed to the role of Board Secretary for the IDB Board of Directors.
