He has a long track record of leading highly complex operations across diverse and challenging international locations. He retired in 2018 as Commander, Naval Supply Systems Command, overseeing 110 worldwide logistics facilities, a team of 28K military and civilian professionals, $33B in managed inventory, and the Navy Exchange, a network of physical and online retail stores with $2.5B in annual sales.

Widely recognized for his exceptional leadership skills, Rear Admiral Yuen has received honors by the Office of the President of the United States. He is a sought-after speaker, often called upon to share his insights on rallying teams, bringing strategic clarity, and aligning people around goals. He has addressed the Fuqua/Coach K Center on Leadership & Ethics at Duke University’s Business School alongside leading corporate executives from Kohler, Goldman Sachs, and Target.

Rear Admiral Yuen is a change agent, known to build and implement global logistics strategies to boost operating performance and drive process improvements. He has implemented innovative business intelligence tools and analytics capabilities for the Navy’s P-8A Poseidon anti-submarine aircraft, shipyard industrial material flow, and the Navy ERP Sustainment Program, all which lead to dramatic efficiencies, measurable supply chain metrics improvements, and multi-million-dollar cost savings.

His ability to operate in mission critical, high-pressure environments has resulted in Rear Admiral Yuen being appointed to lead some of the Navy’s most sensitive investigations and large-scale workforce realignment programs. Notably, he spearheaded the revamp of a high profile global Multiple Award Contract strategy to improve port visits by increasing contractor competition, financial controls and contractor oversight. He was also appointed to plan and execute the full withdrawal of material associated with the U.S. presence in the Middle East, supporting warfighting forces of the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps.

His unique mix of deep supply chain expertise, operational and retail responsibilities, and recognized Naval leadership and ethics standards have led to Rear Admiral Yuen being recognized with several honors, including the Four Legions of Merit and a Bronze Star.

He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the Wharton School of Business.
