Channing Irvin is an experienced public and private sector executive, recognized for implementing successful crisis management and risk mitigation strategies. His career encompasses expertise in leading corporate security, insider risk, and threat assessment operations. Channing delivers comprehensive, actionable best practices that secures government and private sector enterprises and assets.

Currently at Fidelity Investments, Channing serves as the Head of Vendor Risk, Senior Vice President, charged with protecting the firm from 3rd and 4th party risks. He leads an organization that identifies and manages diverse threats associated with matters including, but not limited to, information security vulnerabilities, cyber incidents, vendor performance, and Bank Secrecy Act concerns. Channing was also appointed as the Regional Leader with Fidelity Investment’s Durham, NC campus, which is comprised of approximately 10,000 associates.

Previously, as Fidelity Investments’ Senior Vice President of Security Threat Management and Vetting, Channing led the transformation and modernize of the organization’s technologies. He developed and implemented a roadmap that included an automation enabled, enterprise background vetting and fingerprinting process. The modernization effort improved SLAs, created case management efficiencies, reduced vendor dependencies, and streamlined the enterprise hiring process.
Channing’s federal service spanned a 20-year career with the United States Secret Service (USSS), which culminated as the Senior Executive Service Special Agent in Charge for Protective Intelligence and Threat Assessments. Under his leadership, the organization developed and implemented innovative protective intelligence processes that improved both workforce and operational capabilities across the agency. Additionally, Channing led multimillion-dollar technology acquisition projects that optimized protective operations, supply chain resiliency, logistics, and the mitigation emerging risks.

Before joining the U.S. Secret Service, Channing served as a Police Detective with the City of Columbus and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Channing holds two master’s degrees in technology management and in Telecommunications from George Mason University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from The Ohio State University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D., from the Virginia Tech Pamplin School of Business.
