Life Cycle Executive Leadership Program
In response to requests from industry partners, the Institute for Defense and Business developed the Life Cycle Executive Leadership Program. Professionals at all levels from a broad array of specialty fields in the larger defense community are intensifying their efforts to reduce the total cost of ownership for products and systems through a life cycle approach. The IDB partnered with two leading schools in the field to develop a one-week executive education course designed to meet this growing need. The life cycle program is modeled after our successful Center of Excellence in Logistics Technology (LOGTECH) and Depot and Arsenal Executive Leadership Program (DAELP) offerings bringing together private sector and military leaders with leading experts in the research and education fields to learn the latest practices while sharing related experiences and valuable insights.
Participation in the LCELP could not be timelier. In May 2009, President Obama signed into law the Weapons Systems Acquisition Reform Act (Public Law 111-23, dated 22 May 2009). This law establishes new oversight entities within the Department of Defense, as well as new and varied weapons system acquisition and management reporting requirements.
If you’re responsible for lifecycle aspects of a system – from acquisition to its end of life – then this program is for you.
LCELP is offered as week-long courses in Chapel Hill, NC at the Paul J. Rizzo Conference Center.
