A Virtual Event

Amb (Ret) David C. Litt, IDB Executive Director, Center for Stabilization & Economic Reconstruction, will moderate a panel on supply chain security through the Strait of Hormuz. This panel will speak about the importance of the Gulf in the global supply chain, and challenges for physical security in and out of the Strait of Hormuz, with a special emphasis on role of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Panelists will bring private sector, academic, and military expertise.

This is a one-hour event on Thursday, June 24th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT. Registered participants will have the chance to submit questions during the panel.

Dr. T.B. (Mac) McClelland, Jr.

President & CEO, Center House Ltd.

Living and working in the Middle East and North Africa for over 40 years, Dr. T. B. (Mac) McClelland, Jr., has extensive experience in and with political, social, and military affairs in the Middle East, Southwest Asia, and Africa. Mac is the President and CEO of Center House Ltd., a consulting firm specializing in management consulting and business development. He is a retired U.S. Marine Corps officer and has long advised the U.S. military, U.S. Department of State and consular officials, and foreign government and military officials on African and Arab affairs. He has led complex multicultural international organizations with P&L responsibility, including J. Ray McDermott and Enron Middle East. He currently leads a management consulting firm based in Dubai focused on business development, government relations, and marketing, in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. He is the President for Asia, Europe, Middle East & Africa of the International Stability Operations Association and is a Professor of Leadership and Management at Hult International Business School, the Abu Dhabi School of Management, and other universities in the UAE. He has been featured on CNBC and in The Wall Street Journal on several occasions, and has been an expert witness before the U.S. Congress on issues affecting Americans and American companies abroad. Mac holds a Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership; a MA in International Policies Studies; a MA in Human Resources Management; and a BA in Mathematics. He is also the author of Desert Wind, a novel about the Middle East, Marines, and the threat of global terrorism.
MG Ken S. Dowd, USA (Ret)

Client Executive, Army and Logistics, PAE



Ken S. Dowd is PAE’s Client Executive focused on the Global Logistics Market and the U.S. Army customer. Ken retired from the Army in 2014 at the rank of Major General.

Prior to his work at PAE, Ken was with the Vice President of Logistics for the Reston, Virginia-based SOS International.

In his last active duty military role, Ken was the Director of Logistics Operations for the Defense Logistics Agency. In this position, he oversaw $44 billion budget, directed a 26,000-person work force and oversaw global logistics support for all military forces. Ken also served as Commanding General, 1st Theater Sustainment Command, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait and was responsible for the equipment drawdown of U.S. military forces from Iraq. His team developed the current logistics structure still being used today to remove equipment from Afghanistan.

Ken holds a Master of Science degree in Strategy and Military Science from the Army War College, a Master of Science degree in Logistics and Business Management from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of the Cumberlands, Williamsburg, Kentucky.

Mohammad Shihab is the Managing Director of Saudi Arabia Area covering Saudi Arabia,
Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq & Yemen. Mohammad is based in Jeddah since 2016, prior to
that was the Managing Director of Maersk Egypt. Mohammad has been working in different
roles Maersk in the Middle East & Europe since 2002.
