Technology Demonstration Tours
The MVHPC Program will be arranging tours of motorsports facilities for interested members of the military in order to demonstrate the abilities of the motorsport industry. If you are interested in participating in one of these programs at minimal cost to your company, please contact us.
Indiana Technology Demonstration Tour
On December 14-15, 2011 the Institute for Defense and Business in partnership with the Indiana Motorsports Association conducted a motorsports technology demonstration tour in the area of Indianapolis, IN. The purpose of the tour was to give US military project/product managers information about the wealth of capabilities available in the motorsports industry that are applicable to the military. The tour visited several motorsports companies, including two major IndyCar teams, an exhaust system manufacturer, two composite companies, a suspension company, and a safety restraint company.

North Carolina Technology Demonstration Tour
On January 18-19, the Institute for Defense and Business conducted a technology demonstration tour in the Charlotte, NC area. The purpose of the tour was to give US military project/product managers information about the wealth of capabilities available in the motorsports industry that are applicable to the military. The tour visited a NASCAR Sprint Cup race team shop as well as companies working with computational fluid dynamics, suspension system testing, engine desgn and engineering, and shock design. The group also heard from companies working with vehicle occupant safety, cryogenic processing and treating, and polycarbonate windshields.

California Technology Demonstration Tour
On March 5-6, the Institute for Defense and Business conducted a technology demonstration tour in the San Diego, CA area. The purpose of the tour was to give US military project/product managers information about the wealth of capabilities available in the off-road motorsports industry that are applicable to the military. The tour visited a manufacturer of racing seats and other safety equipment, an off-road vehicle chassis shop, and company that makes suspensions. The participants also heard from companies engaged in tire design and engineering, vehicle towing technology, auxiliary and off-road lighting, and tire sealant.
