Logistics for the 21st Century

Log21: Logistics for the 21st Century is a week-long executive education program designed for high-potential logisticians from industry, the military, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense (DoD), and DoD agencies. Formed in 2008, the course has since grown in popularity and now serves as a major program area for the IDB.

Log21, provides early-career logisticians with a comprehensive and tailored educational experience to assist with their professional development. Logistics is considered the core enabler at the base of a company’s global competitive strategy. Competence in such a complex and important area begins with the initial professional development process crucial in nurturing early career interest and success. This program serves to increase the knowledge, skills and abilities of the participants while linking them into a broader network of logisticians. It also reinforces the logistics strategies of participating organizations; expands and facilitates knowledge transfer within participating organizations; and helps to retain talented, early-career logistics leaders.

"Log21 was created for early-career logisticians to give them broader exposure to the world of defense logistics. Participants leave with a larger network of both military and industry connections, as well as a greater understanding of such topics as performance based logistics, contract negotiations, the DoD budget process, life cycle design, and sustainable logistics."
